Text description provided by the architects. This unusual program aimed to convert an existing villa into a office for a small business. By correcting the existing volumetric shape of the building we reached a compact gray block capable of standing out in a residencial area occupied mainly by 70´s apartment blocks.
The façade is composed by pieces of a puzzle that seeks to create an abstract image that distances the building from its original use.
Outside a "mesh" of small squares builds a brise-soleil which ensures the privacy of the offices. Inside, work and circulation spaces are differentiated by color and materiality: The distribution spaces,in concrete, are characterized by a grid of apparently disorganized skylights that distributes light to the access areas on he 1st and the 2nd floors, the work spaces, in white, are limited by the surrounding cabinets that frame the different exterior spaces.
